Increasingly committed to the issues of sustainable mobility, Infralobo once again marked its presence at the Parking Day event, related to the European Car Free Day, which took place on 22 September and marks the end of the European Mobility Week, which began on the 16th of this month. This event took place in Praça da República, in Loulé.
We took to this event our Smart Bikes project, a system of electric bicycles for shared use and available to residents in the Infralobo intervention area who wish to use this environmentally friendly solution.
The Smart Bikes system is integrated in the Smart Resort by Infralobo project and fits in the Municipal Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change (EMAAC) defined by the Municipality of Loulé.
The executive of the Municipality of Redondo visited our facilities to see and learn about what is already being done by Infralobo regarding the intelligent management of waste collection and urban cleaning.
On September 14, AMAL (Intermunicipal Community of Algarve - CIM Algarve) was the promoter of a workshop on the theme: "Shape: Sharing Adaptation Plan Experience", under the AwK project - Adaptation with Knowledge, Climate Change at the headquarters of Infralobo. The following entities were present: Infralobo, AMAL, Região de Turismo do Algarve (RTA), EEA Grants Portugal - National Management Unit (entity funding this project), Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS) and the Innlandet County Council.
This project, which has the RTA and KS as partners, and aims to improve the Algarve's resilience and response capacity to climate change, creating the basis and support necessary for the implementation of the Algarve Intermunicipal Climate Change Adaptation Plan (PIAAC-AMAL).
One of the axes of the project concerns the exchange and consolidation of knowledge based on practical cases, which foresees the realization of a workshop for Algarve municipal technicians. In this workshop, called "Shape: Sharing Adaptation Plan Experience", a contextualization of adaptation in the Algarve was made and experiences and inspiring examples of good practices were shared by Norwegian colleagues.
