The aquifers most affected by saline infiltration are those on the coast, which happens in Vale do Lobo, where the water withdrawn is greater than the water that enters, allowing a greater saline intrusion. Recent analyzes allowed delimiting an area of 4.6 km2 currently affected by saline intrusion, which corresponds to approximately 14.4% of the subsystem of Vale do Lobo. Infralobo has invested in water management and efficiency tools to combat this scenario, such as the reuse of treated water and intelligent irrigation systems.
